Angus has spent his entire career at the intersection of small business and accounting.

 

His foundation started in New Zealand on a multi-generational family farm, learning the challenges and rewards of running a successful business.

​

He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Canterbury (NZ). He used that to kick off his career at KPMG advising early-stage and expansion-stage businesses.

​

In 2018, Angus moved to Toronto and joined Xero, a leading global accounting software company, where he worked with accounting practices throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada. In this role, Angus developed cloud accounting strategies, helping practices streamline their operations and improve their bottom line.

He founded Aligned Books because he felt drawn to working directly with small businesses once again, to his wealth of experience and deep passion for helping others succeed.
